The experience of Wegh in the world, leads Ghana to choose it as a supplier of this order. In fact, 12 eLCSP (electronic Level Crossing safety & protection) systems from WEGH Group, SIL4 certified, have been installed along the Takoradi- Koiokrom- Sekondi line.
The 12 systems have a dual power supply system, both standard from the 220V power grid and from photovoltaic panels that feed the command and control panel, the TD96 / 2 level crossing machine and light signals, both on the track and on the road side.
The railway line crosses the urban area, heavily urbanized by the twin cities of Takoradi and Sekondi. The line has recently been completely rebuilt, passing from the 1067 mm gauge to the standard gauge; it is a double track for about 10 km to Koiokrom station, on the previous Western Line track towards Kumasi, while it is a single track from Koiokrom to Sekondi built new. Nine stations have also been renovated and those at Koiokrom and Sekondi built from scratch. This further order confirms WEGH Group’s great confidence in Ghanaian railways, which since 2012 started install PL here.
