Turnout Sleepers
Switches, or switch sleepers, are an integral part of the production process of WEGH Group S.p.A., which has been supplying its customers for years with its own production facilities specially designed for these products.
The turnouts
Our crossbars are produced in our highly versatile plant that meets every design requirement and every type of turnout.
Our Business Unit Manufatti per Armamento is the point of reference in Italy for the production of crossbars for turnouts: active in the sector since 1985, it guarantees a high level of know-how, which is essential to follow all stages of the process, from design to production.
A wide range of sleepers
Our company offers a wide range of railroad sleepers for railroad ties, which find application in both conventional and high-speed lines.
Our turnout sleepers can be equipped with a USP (Under Sleeper Pad): an innovative solution, which is placed on the lower surface of the sleeper in contact with the ballast to
– Dampen the friction between concrete and ballast, reducing the formation of fine dust;
– Improve load distribution;
– Reduce the frequency of tamping and ballast replacement operations.
The USP allows for a significant increase in the life cycle of the ballast.
WEGH Group also manufactures CAP (Pre-stressed Reinforced Concrete) sleepers for turnouts with third feed rail and sleepers for tramway switches.
Innovation, safety and reliability-these are the values that characterize our group and which we apply to all our products and services. The quality of our switch sleepers is the result of many years of experience and the commitment of a specialized team.
