WEGH Group manufactures a ballastless system consisting of precast pre-stressed concrete platforms (Arianna Slab System) resting on a base foundation, first designed in Europe in 1984 and successfully used on major railway lines ever since.

WEGH Group, through its Track Works division, is active in track construction for rail, tram and subway lines. Thanks to the team’s commitment and passion and long experience in the industry, our division is recognized as a qualified partner in the rail transportation industry.

Research is at the heart of the Railway Rails division’s innovative thrust: collaboration with leading universities and constant improvement of product quality and performance led our company to create in 1984, first in Europe among railway rail companies, innovative ballastless precast and prestressed rail systems, now increasingly adopted by railway operators worldwide.

Our Ballastless Solutions

WEGH Group, with the Track works Business Unit manufactures ballastless track systems with prestressed concrete plates called the Arianna®, which is ideal for any type of project, from conventional to high-speed lines. The division not only designs the ballastless reinforcement in the three phases (feasibility, final and execution) but also implements it on site.

The Arianna® system is available in two versions: the standard version, with superior features to traditional ballast, and the Plus version, designed for cases requiring high performance to limit vibration.

Slab Track Arianna®

Arianna ® is a ballastless system composed of precast prestressed resting on a concrete foundation with the interposition of a special mortar which compensate the foundations irregularities.

The system is ideal for rail, subway, and tram lines, particularly for high-speed, high-traffic lines.
