WEGH Group S.p.A., a major player in the production of pre-stressed reinforced concrete railway sleepers in Italy and around the world, has been awarded an important contract for the supply of more than 150,000 sleepers for the Milan-Venice high-speed railway line construction project.
The temporary consortium (Associazione Temporanea d’Impresa), GCF (Generale Costruzioni Ferroviarie), CLF (Costruzioni Linee Ferroviarie) and SALCEF, which was awarded the contract for the construction of the track, has awarded WEGH Group the contracts for the supply of the line sleepers and switches in pre-stressed reinforced concrete.
The sleepers will be produced at the Calcinate (BG) plant, where WEGH Group has a state-of-the-art automated production line.
This acquisition confirms WEGH Group as a strategic partner for rail, metro and tram mobility, both in Italy and abroad.
