The Rome-Viterbo railway line, a strategic axis for connections between the capital and the Viterbo area, has been identified by ASTRAL as a priority for level-crossing safety work.
Following the tender for works and supply of automatic systems, WEGH Group was selected for the best technical/economic result for the supply of 30 eLCSP (Electronic Level Crossing Safety and Protection) systems, helping to raise the safety standards of the line.
The innovative eLCSP system is based on an electronic control logic with redundant microcontrollers in a 2-in-2 configuration, and a SIL4-certified electronic control panel, an evolution of previous electromechanical systems.

In addition, the system will be equipped with remote diagnostics capabilities, which will allow real-time monitoring of the operational status of level crossings.
The installation is scheduled to start in June 2025, with the aim of offering citizens a more modern, safe and reliable railway infrastructure.
