WEGH Group acquires a new project for the extension of Line 1 of the Sassari light rail.
The “Santa Maria di Pisa/Sant’Orsola/Li Punti – Functional section Santa Maria di Pisa/Sant’Orsola” connection represents a significant direction in the promotion of sustainable mobility in the Sassari area.
Thanks to its experience in the transport infrastructure sector, WEGH Group will realise this project with innovative ballastless track systems. This state-of-the-art technological solution offers numerous advantages including increased stability, durability and reduced maintenance costs with the guarantee of a profitable quality of service for passengers.
An important aspect of the project is the construction of a branch-off of the existing line between the Railway Station and Santa Maria di Pisa through the installation of a railway switch, which will provide access to the area of the new Shed and Maintenance Centre as well as the construction of a new stop to guarantee a convenient connection.
