A new success for WEGH Group, which entered the Algerian market with the supply of an innovative production plant to Société Nationale de Génie Civil et Bâtiment (GCB Spa), a subsidiary of SONATRACH Group.
The agreement includes the supply of a carousel plant for the production of monoblock M450 railway sleepers. Thanks to its modular design, the production plant is prepared for future capacity extensions. Completely installed and started up in less than two months, the system is designed to guarantee high performance even in extreme environments such as the desert.
WEGH Group, in the production of the first 30,000 contractual sleepers, confirmed the now contractually expected productivity.
The plant will provide the necessary production support for the construction of section No. 03 of the new Béchar/Tindouf (Ghare Djebilette) railway line, which will extend for about 950 km. Being a key infrastructure for the country, it will facilitate the North-South connection, stimulating economic and social growth of whole Algeria.
With this supply, WEGH Group enters a new strategic market, confirming its ability to adapt to challenging environments and reinforcing its leading role in the development of railway infrastructures at a global level.
