ARIANNA®: the WEGH experience that combines technology, sustainability and vision

In the heart of Sassuolo’s ceramic district, the inauguration of the Railway Bridge designed with Ballastless Arianna® System by WEGH Group recently took place with great success. The work, commissioned by Ferrovie dell’Emilia-Romagna (FER), was attended by illustrious guests, including the mayor of Sassuolo, the president of the province, the director of FER, the transport city council member and the president of the Emilia-Romagna region Stefano Bonaccini.
The director of Ferrovie dell’Emilia-Romagna, Stefano Masola, said: ‘We are pleased to announce the completion of this important infrastructure work in just 18 months, without any road interruptions, except for a few hours during a couple of nights in August. This achievement is the result of efficiency and cooperation between the parties involved in the project.”
Those present shared their enthusiasm for the strategic importance of the project, emphasising the key role of the Sassuolo Bridge in solving the problems related to the critical level crossing and facilitating vehicular and rail traffic in the area.
The mayor of Sassuolo said: “This work represents a significant step for our community, improving the quality of life of our citizens and promoting sustainable development.”
The president of the Emilia-Romagna region, Stefano Bonaccini, emphasised the importance of investing in innovative solutions such as the Ballastless Arianna® railway track system, underlining its contribution to modernising infrastructure and enhancing regional connectivity.
The transport city council member added: “This inauguration marks a step forward in the transport sector, demonstrating the region’s commitment to adopting cutting-edge technologies to improve mobility and reduce environmental impact.”
With the presence of such authoritative figures, the inauguration of the Sassuolo Bridge consolidated the importance of investing in innovative infrastructure to stimulate economic development and improve the quality of life in the region.
