2026 begins with an important international event in the Balkans. The company has been invited to an event dedicated to innovation in the railway sector, confirming the market’s growing interest in high-performance railway solutions.
The initiative provided an opportunity for high-level discussion on slab track issues and the future implementation of this technology in the Greek railway system, in a context of rapid infrastructure development and a focus on durable, efficient and sustainable solutions.
In this context, WEGH presented the Arianna® system, which was met with great interest by participants. This is a ballastless railway track system based on prefabricated prestressed reinforced concrete slabs, designed to ensure high durability and optimised life cycle costs compared to traditional ballasted systems. Thanks to its modular nature and reduced routine maintenance requirements, Arianna® ensures:
• Significantly reduced maintenance, resulting in lower operating and track intervention costs;
• High reliability and availability of the line, limiting planned and unplanned interruptions;
• Environmental sustainability, thanks to materials designed to have a reduced impact throughout the entire life cycle of the infrastructure;
• Long operating life, the result of a design focused on maximum stability over time.
These characteristics make Arianna® an ideal solution for modern, high intensity use railway projects, where efficiency, sustainability and low operating costs are fundamental requirements.
The initiative involved over 200 guests, most of whom connected online, demonstrating the interest and relevance of the issues addressed.
Participation in this international event represents a further step in Arianna®’s growth and strengthens WEGH’s position as a technological partner for the development of the railway infrastructure of the future
