WEGH Group confirms itself as a reliable partner of Ferrovie dell’Emilia Romagna. As part of the investments made by FER for the modernization of its railway network, just in these days WEGH Group has been awarded a contract for the supply of 300 Level Crossings Barrier Machines TD96/2 which will increase the TD96/2 barrier machines already in operation in Ferrovie Emilia Romagna.
The contract will lead to the swap of the old barrier machines with the reliable TD96/2, which are distinguished by their safety and easy maintenance. The ordered supply will be used to operate the entire 364 km regional rail network serving the passenger and freight market.
WEGH Group’s TD96/2 Level Crossing Barrier Machines, already in operation on the FER’s railway, will be installed on the Ferrara-Suzzara, Reggio-Guastalla , Reggio-Sassuolo and Bologna-Portomaggiore lines; single track ordinary gauge, diesel mixed traction and direct current supply lines. The order includes several days of training over the two-year period, consisting of a theoretical part and a practical part for the new maintenance staff.
WEGH Group with its level crossing equipment is the main supplier of these safety devices for the Italian railway networks, thanks to the recognized reliability of its products, and exports its technology in this field to many foreign countries, among them, recently Vietnam, Ethiopia and Ghana.
