Thanks to a large experience in railway signalling and the strong relationship with RFI, WEGH Group has entered the market of point machines, targeting the medium speed segment (up to 200 km/h). The company has firmly bet on innovative and patented technologies. Over the years, the engineers at our R&D Centre have collected and studied the market requirements, and WEGH is now in a position to offer modular, flexible, easy-to-maintain sleeper solutions, which, more importantly, are safe and reliable.
MET (acronym for In-sleeper Electrical Machine) is an innovative machine designed for railway switch activation. Its points of strength include in-sleeper design, electro-hydraulic activation, modular layout and the external clamp-lock system.
METRA (acronym for In-Sleeper Electrical Machine with Actuator) is an innovative system designed for railway switch activation, which consists of two activation points. In addition to the features of MET, this system is supplied with an obstacle detector between the point blade and the stock rail, and it can control the railway switch geometry.
